Terra Ascendant is a alternate universe Mass Effect, containing elements from a wide range of Sci-Fi and other sources.
The simplest and most straightforward way to explain the concept, is my wish to write a story about Humans dominating.
That's not to some people's taste, and I respect that, just as I ask that they respect mine.
In my opinion there is a lack of this sort of literature in Fan Fiction, and it is my desire to correct this, and maybe learn a little bit about myself and my talents in the process. Spinning an entertaining yarn is simply a bonus, but one that I do hope to succeed in.
The Human civilization in Mass Effect is more than not a creation of my own mind, but I think it reflects on ourselves more than some would like to admit.
The overarching message I am attempting to craft is that power, superiority, dominance, fang, tooth and claw, are not evil things. They are simply what they are, tools, and their usage reflects on the soul of the user.
If you detect echos of Heinlein, Nietzsche, and Machiavelli, it is very intentional. If you don't, that's my fault. If you think I'm insane after reading that line: You're probably right.
Anyway, I hope that didn't come off as too pretentious, and I do hope you enjoy the stories, even if you don't agree with them.
